Mommy's Day Lunch

I had the most special Mother's Day lunch prepared by the cutest chef in town: Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Spirals!! Jacob waited for the water to boil, dumped in the noodles, stirred occassionally (ok, constantly), stirred in the butter, milk, and cheese mix. It was so sweet to watch he concentration at every step.

 He's telling me to be careful because it is hot.

 The watched pot continued to boil. 

Easter Weekend

It was wonderful to spend time with both sides of the family for Easter weekend. Jake successfully (and swiftly) gathered over two dozen eggs that were strategically hidden by the Easter bunny. He had a wonderful time. He also enjoyed opening each one to discover candy or pennies inside. He also received a few other gifts, including real gardening tools that he put to good use.

 At Easter dinner, Uncle David hung a spoon from his nose. Jacob acted like he was going to do the same thing. Instead he grabbed a blob of fruit dip and aimed for Mom.

 It all back-fired on Uncle David, too.

The Meatball

Jacob has found himself strangely obsessed and horribly frightened of an imaginary meatball. It all started with an innocent song/skit in a Sesame Street episode. There are times that he refuses to get out of his bed because he thinks the meatball is "going to get" him. We have done our best to reassure him that the meatball is only on TV or that it won't get him because Josie will eat it first (not far from the truth). I even went as far as teaching him the song that goes along with the skit. While he loves to sing the song, it hasn't cured his fear. I don't know what else to do but video tape the cuteness...

Also, he wasn't cooperating with having me behind the camera, so I turned the "viewfinder" around so that he could see himself. It may help explain the weird angle and his slight distraction with his facial expressions.

Bubbles and Baseball

Spring has sprung!! Jacob and I spend the majority of our evenings in the backyard. Last night was no different, except for the entertainment of his new bubble machine.

I also didn't realize that over the winter his coordination had developed so significantly until he started showing off his batting skills.

 

 

 

 

 

 



Chronicles of a Two-Year Old's Birthday

Jacob enjoyed a wonderful second birthday surrounded by those who love him most. We went with a construction theme for the decorations and Jacob loved seeing "skiddies" everywhere. We did build-your-own-kabobs to offer a little variety and fun for the adults. After lunch, Jake tore through his presents while sweetly thanking the appropriate person/people after each gift. Then came the moment that we practiced for, blowing out the candles. He allowed us all to sing to him first before extinguishing the flames with a little bit of breath and spit.

I still can't believe that my little boy is "2".

Fun House

Saturday morning, Scott and I tore the living room apart so that I could shampoo the carpets. Before the actual cleaning started, the "beasts" of the house enjoyed the extra space. Welcome to the Fun House!

Big Boy Bed
