Now, we all know that Wrigley is a princess but I never figured she would be the type to rule her kingdom with harshness.
Last night, Jacob and I were playing ball with Josie. Wrigley was laying in the yard minding her own and everyone else's business. Josie kept running past her in pursuit of her tennis ball. Apparently, Princess Wrigley had enough of that game and tried to give Josie a warning. However, Josie turned at the same time and Wrigley's tooth got caught on Josie's hind end. This misjudgement of timing on both of their parts resulted in a gash on Josie's hind-quarter that is about an inch long and the size of a dime. Josie yelped and came running to me to be coddled. Wrigley did her best to avoid my stare.
Afterwards, Wrigley felt somewhat guilty and spent the rest of the night hiding out in her palace in the basement. Josie, on the other hand, was basking in the sympathy lovin'. She milked it for all that it was worth.
We got her all cleaned up last night and then this morning Scott trimmed the hair around the wound to help it heal. For any of you who know Josie, you will understand that she is less than a willing patient (she is such an embarrassment when we have to go to the vet).
It turned out to be a Sunday to remember. Life is never boring at our house!

Two Month Check-up
Jacob had his two month check-up today. As Grandma Kelley predicted, the doctor said that he is perfect. While he didn't appreciate being stripped down to his nudies, he did give the nurses and doctor a smile or two while they were examining him. That is until the nurse came in and gave him his vaccinations. I have never heard him scream like that...and of course, I cried.
Other than the tears, all was well. He now weighs 13 lbs 4 oz (80th percentile). He is 24.25 inches long (75th percentile). His head circumference is 39.5 inches (30th percentile). He did really well holding his head up when the doctor put him on his tummy, better than she expected. He also had good tummy noises despite not having pooped for three days.
We return again in two months for his next check-up and another round of shots.
