Dog Days - Late August

Scott's Dad was kind enough to keep the kids so we could enjoy an anniversary dinner.

We went over to pick them up this morning and Scott ended up helping Grandpa with some outstanding chores. It was the perfect day to get out the swimming pool. However, Mom made the mistake of forgetting the swimsuits. The kids didn't seem to mind Underwear-Dipping!

Fun with Friends

Last weekend we had the opportunity to spend time with friends we haven't seen in far too long.

Saturday night Scott and I were invited to a dear friend's birthday party at Riverside Casino. The night was wonderful. It was extremely special to have the whole team back together again.

Then on Sunday, the kids and I packed up and headed south to spend the day with some former roommates from Mt. Mercy. To make it even more special, they have kids that are the exact ages as my kids. Jake and Luke spent nearly the entire day in the Power Wheels Gator. Jenna and Lauren rode along for a while but also spent time in the sandbox.

The kids were also treated to their first boat ride on the cutest little pontoon boat I have ever seen. The little girls tired pretty quickly, so the boys dropped us at shore and went back out fishing. When Jake had the only catch of the day, he dispelled from very useful fishing advice to Luke. Luke was getting upset that Jake caught a fish and he didn't and why the fish weren't biting his line. Jake told him that "sometimes you just need to sit still and be quiet." Not bad advice.

Fun Days

Took the kids to a local town's Fun Day Festival. First we enjoyed the parade and then moved on to the school lawn for games, inflatables, and smiles. Both kids enjoyed all of the games and attractions. Jenna's favorite was the giant inflatable slide. It only took her one turn to fall in love. Then her next time down, she had such a fun ride that she decided to climb back up the slide and go again. It's a good thing she's cute!!

Benefit Day Parade

Every year our small town has a celebration called Children's Benefit Day. All money made goes back to the children of the community.

Our family enjoys the parade and "downtown" festivities.
