Memorable Memorial Day

We had a busy holiday weekend in Thomson full of traditions, impromptu fun, and a lot of family time. Friday night started with a trip to Aunt Pam's for traditional Manny's dinner. Jake decided to take advantage of the sunshine and went "swimming" in the bucket of water intended for the dogs. Saturday led us to a day at the mall. Jake was a perfect angel until we went to Von Mauer and he was given freedom to roam. He filled the store with happy squeals and giggles so much that the pianist interrupted her playing to admire his glee. What a menace!

Sunday was by-far the busiest day. To start the madness, we enjoyed breakfast at Great-Grandma Cottral's. Great-Uncle Dave got conned into playing with the carousel horse wind chime (just part of the routine). Then I had a bridal shower to attend, so Jake stayed home with Aunt Megan. We immediately rushed from the shower to a surprise birthday party for Great-Aunt Mary Jo. Jake enjoyed having the run of St. John's Hall. However, his fun resulted in a few party decoration casualties. Monday was much quieter with most of the time being spent at home.

Despite all of the rushing around, Jake still got ample quality time with cousin Brock. Brock is always more than ready for us to leave! To cap off the weekend, we were preparing to leave and Jake wanted a drink of my water. I gave him a drink which resulted in him controlling the cup. The result was water in my lap and over his head. I tell you that to help explain the pictures of him with the cup and his hair all spiked-up. Thanks everyone for a great weekend!!
