Big Girl Bed

Last week, we moved Jenna out of her crib and into a big girl bed. She is just growing up too fast. Thankfully, she has adjusted very well.

When we first got her bed set-up, the only thing she wanted to do was lay in her new bed and read.

I am so grateful that my dogs are patient with the children. Josie is so good about playing their games (which usually includes her getting put in a closet). Then Wrigley sits nicely while they take such great care of her.

An Iowa Tradition

SWEET CORN!! The crop is late this year. We were just able to get our first dozen ears last week. Totally worth the wait!!

Curious Jenna Goes Fishing

On Jenna's actual birthday, she asked to go fishing (following Jacob's suggestion of the activity). Jacob was a little older than two when we first took him fishing and he's been hooked since (pun intended).

The outcome wasn't as successful with Jenna. She did not have the attention span for fishing, even though we were catching quite a few. She spent most of the time distracting the rest of us by
 - Setting the worms free
 - Attempting to throw bobbers into the water
 - Rooting through tackle boxes
 - Yelling at neighboring wildlife like the two beautiful deer that just wanted a drink
 - So on and so on

Despite all of her extraneous activity, she also did a little fishing and pulled in a little fish. It was also nice that Mom was able to go along and witness Jacob's inherent skill for angling.

Jenna Turns 2!!

One joy of having a birthday in July is pool parties at Grandpa's. Though we didn't get any pictures of us swimming, there are plenty of shots of the eating and opening of presents.
