Grandpa John came over Friday night on a whim and took Jacob fishing. Three hours later they returned with a stringer of fish and lots of stories. Jacob's streak continues. He caught more that 12 fish and ended up having to use Grandpa's rod and reel because his was too small for the fish he was bringing in. Grandpa on the other hand only caught two fish, but Jacob tells me that he thinks Grandpa still had fun.
When Jacob snagged his catfish, he wasn't paying attention to his pole and all of a sudden his bobber disappeared. Grandpa says the fish gave a hard fight, but Jacob never quit realing, even when he tripped over the tackle box. He was very proud of that "ugly" fish.
Jenna wasn't sure what to think about the fish on the stringer, but she desperately wanted to hold them. It took her a while to warm up. When she did, all she wanted to do was "pet fishy".
Jacob had so much fun that it is all he talked about on Saturday. We went and got him a bigger pole and his own tackle box (with "stick bobbers" he picked out). So, of course, Jacob, Grandpa, and Daddy went fishing last night to try everything out. This time Jacob only caught four fish before it got too late.
