Playset Project 2011

One of the things that I wanted done before baby #2 is born was to have a nice backyard playset for Jake. Between the chain link fence and the slide/swing/sandbox, I am hoping that I can put him out back and not worry too much about the trouble he will find. Given that I am married to Mr. Do-It-The-Hard-Way, we didn't just buy a kit from the store. The design for this playset went straight from Scott's imagination to our backyard. It was pretty awesome to watch it come together. Jake was also quite the helper. They both really enjoyed their time building together.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful Dads out there!

I would like to take time to honor the best dad that Jake could possibly have.

Stunt Dog

Scott and Jake are making slow progress with the playset (I have a ton of pictures to post when it is finished). Once the ladder was built, Josie joined in the fun. It took her a couple of days to learn that the slide is the fastest way to the bottom. Then she got to the point where she was making her own fun by dragging her ball to the top and dropping it down herself. Crazy little dog!!

ABC's

For you frequent viewers of PBS cartoons, this video needs no introduction. For everyone else...Jacob loves Super Why (which he calls Super Readers) and one of the characters is Alpha-Pig that "hammers out" the alphabet in nearly every episode. Last night, Jacob performed his best rendition.

Wriggy Ride

I think this is the roughest that Jake has ever played with Wrigley. Usually, Wrigley gets all of the hugs and "nice pets" while Josie gets the rambunctiousness.

I don't know exactly what Jake was rambling about in this particular video, but his facial expressions are priceless.

Preparing Jake's New Room

While we are in progress of getting Jake's new room ready, the outlook is good that it will happen prior to the baby arriving. We spent the weekend painting...all of us!!

Mommy's Day Lunch

I had the most special Mother's Day lunch prepared by the cutest chef in town: Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Spirals!! Jacob waited for the water to boil, dumped in the noodles, stirred occassionally (ok, constantly), stirred in the butter, milk, and cheese mix. It was so sweet to watch he concentration at every step.

 He's telling me to be careful because it is hot.

 The watched pot continued to boil. 

Easter Weekend

It was wonderful to spend time with both sides of the family for Easter weekend. Jake successfully (and swiftly) gathered over two dozen eggs that were strategically hidden by the Easter bunny. He had a wonderful time. He also enjoyed opening each one to discover candy or pennies inside. He also received a few other gifts, including real gardening tools that he put to good use.
