During my week of vacation, I took the kids to Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. We met Aunt Angie and cousin Makenzey. All three kids (and both adults) had a blast.

Surprise!!

Below are pictures from the celebration of my parent's wedding vow renewal. This was intended to be a surprise for my mom. The secret lasted until 1 hour before church ("go-time"). Regardless, it was a wonderfully special night with Mom, Dad, Grandmas, Aunts, Uncles, and Great Friends.

Farmer's Market

My father-in-law takes his homegrown vegetables to a local farmer's market. We had the opportunity to help him out last week. Jenna helps by taking all of the quarters out of the box and eating the product (mostly rhubarb). Jacob is a much bigger helper. He dumps empty bins, bags for customers, takes money (including some tips).

Luckily, the market is right next to one of our favorite parks. Perfect place after a long afternoon of pedaling produce.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Great-Uncle Dave gave Jacob the amazing opportunity to board the engine of a freight train. It was a great experience for the entire family. Jacob had a permantent smile on his face the rest of the night.
