Spring has sprung!! Jacob and I spend the majority of our evenings in the backyard. Last night was no different, except for the entertainment of his new bubble machine.
I also didn't realize that over the winter his coordination had developed so significantly until he started showing off his batting skills.
Jacob enjoyed a wonderful second birthday surrounded by those who love him most. We went with a construction theme for the decorations and Jacob loved seeing "skiddies" everywhere. We did build-your-own-kabobs to offer a little variety and fun for the adults. After lunch, Jake tore through his presents while sweetly thanking the appropriate person/people after each gift. Then came the moment that we practiced for, blowing out the candles. He allowed us all to sing to him first before extinguishing the flames with a little bit of breath and spit.
Saturday morning, Scott and I tore the living room apart so that I could shampoo the carpets. Before the actual cleaning started, the "beasts" of the house enjoyed the extra space. Welcome to the Fun House!
Jacob engaging the girls in a game of Leap Dog. In the end, Jo-Jo loses.
Here is Jake showing off his temporary big boy bed. He twin-sized mattress will be here any day. He is still proud to not be in the crib anymore and is more than ready to hand it down to his sister.
Jacob spent some of the warmer winter temperatures building a snow-bear with Dad and Grandpa S. I'm sure you can figure out who was responsible for all of the sticks on the bottom. Here are two of them showing it off:
I like the innocence in his eyes!! He was "helping" Mom make Special K bars by licking chocolate off of the spoon. This hoola-hoop is actually a tunnel when expanded. But isn't he cute? Taking a break to send a text to May-May...she lives in Milwattee.
Part of Jake's construction set that he received for Christmas includes a hard hat and safety goggles...enough said!! (I don't know how the beads came into play)
Sunday morning, we woke up to about an inch of fluffy snow. Jake insisted on helping Dad shovel. The funniest part is that he pushes snow in every direction.
